Launch of ‘Women & Children of the RMS Leinster – Restored to History’ by Philip Lecane

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Leinster there was a great turn out for the launch of Philip Lecane’s book ‘Women & Children of the RMS Leinster – Restored to History’.

The event took place in the LexIcon in Dún Laoghaire.  The book was launched by Dr Jeff Kildea, Professor of irish Studies, University of New South Wales, Australia.

On 10th October 1918 the RMS Leinster was sunk off the coast of Dublin after being torpedoed by a German submarine. The book looks at the women and children who were aboard the ship.

The book is on sale in the National Maritime Museum in Dún Laoghaire.
